Alex Perry is a pianist and composer living in Brooklyn. In 2012 he graduated from Rutgers University Magna Cum Laude where he studied under the legendary Stanley Cowell for four years. In the Spring of 2012, Alex performed at The Blue Note Jazz Club in New York with the Rutgers University Jazz Ensemble directed by Conrad Herwig. In addition to Rutgers, Alex has participated in several international jazz workshops including the School for Improvised Music in 2010, the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam Summer Jazz Workshop in 2010, and the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music in both 2010 and 2012. He has performed on stage with a number of well renowned musicians including Andrew D’Angelo, Victor Lewis and Aoife O’Donovan. Alex currently performs in New York as a soloist, a band leader and as a collaborator involved in several ongoing bands.
