Benjamin Furman is a pianist, composer and singer born in Santiago, Chile in 1991. His was a house of musicians, hence his musical education began at an early age. Currently, at age 24, he finished his musical studies in the prestigious Berklee College of Music, in Boston, U.S.A, specializing in Performance and Composition. His musical influences are varied, and include Jazz, Middle Eastern music, Latin, South American Folklore, Rock and Folk. This variety becomes evident in his debut album “Desde el Jardin” (From the Garden) (2014). With only 24 years of age, he has become one of the Chilean jazz musicians with the highest international projection, something highly recognized by his fellow musicians. He is a multifaceted musician, performing and composing in many styles, such as: Jazz, Middle Eastern music, South American Folklore, Latin Jazz, Rock, Folk, Tango, etc.
Benjamin has had presentations in many festivals and other important stages, including “Festival Jazz a la Calle” (Uruguay), “Festival de Jazz Lebu” (Chile), and various performances and collaborations with some of the most influential musicians from Santiago, Buenos Aires, Boston and New York.
Also from an early age Benjamin has been a constant writer of poems, short stories, novels and essays, as well as having experience as an actor of drama and comedy.
