Founded in 2014 by violin and composer Benjamin Sutin, Klazz-Ma-Tazz is a band with a vision to transcend boundaries of labels in music and people. Their music, rooted in the jazz/fusion idiom strives to include genuine influence from a multitude of folk music from around the world based on the various ethnic backgrounds and musical sensibilities of each band member. Klazz-Ma-Tazz released their debut album, Tangibility, in September, 2015 on OneTrickDog* Records. The album has since received international radio airplay. Tangibility was launched with sold out sets at Cornelia Street Cafe to rave reviews by Fred Stal of RG Magazine, who described the music: “Wild, yet reserved, the music of Klazz-Ma-Tazz will surprise you, excite you and calm you, all in one sitting”. Since then the band has performed for large and enthusiastic crowds at venues across the North East including World Cafe Live (Philadelphia), City Winery (NYC), DROM, Silvana, Shrine, Club Bonafide among many more. Klazz-Ma-Tazz just recorded their next album to be released in early 2018 featuring brand new original compositions and re-imagined, modern jazz/fusion arrangements of American Yiddish Theater and Klezmer classics.
