Originally from Indonesia, now currently based in Sydney, pianist Francesca Prihasti is a remarkably gifted musician. She is a recent graduate from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, who has studied with the likes of Judy Bailey, Kevin Hunt, Mike Nock, Greg Coffin, John Harkins, and Matt McMahon.

Francesca has already shared the stage in Sydney with some of Australia’s best Jazz musicians: such as Dave Goodman, Richard Maegraith, Carl Dewhurst, Andrew Dickeson, and she has also performed with Dale Barlow as his side women in 2011 with SIMA at the Sound Lounge.

Francesca performs regularly with her quartet, featuring young talented musicians, Alex Boneham (double bass), James Waples (drums), and Nic Vardanega (guitar) on the Sydney Jazz Scene.

She presents her original compositions, and arrangements of favourite jazz standards, imbued with her poise and crystalline focus.
Francesca has performed with her quartet at various jazz venues in Sydney such as the Jazzgroove associations, 505, Colbourne Avenue, Dome Bar, and has recently played at Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival 2015.

Francesca has recorded two albums of original compositions with prominent jazz musicians from New York. First, In 2014 featuring: Marco Panascia (double bass) and Ulysses Owens Jr. (drums), followed by her second album, recorded in September 2015, set for early 2016 release featuring Rodney Green (drums) and Orlando Le Fleming (double bass).
