Philadelphia Soul will be invading New York at Club Bonafide on May 5th at 7:30PM with some of the City of Brotherly Love & Sisterly Affection’s Best Vocalist. Ashley Scott, Gnomi Gre, and Tia McNeil are bringing their original songs as well as covers that highlight some of Philadelphia’s most recognized songs from the classic soul era to the contemporary sound known as “Neo Soul.”
About Ashley Scott
Ashley Scott is a talented vocalist from Philadelphia, PA. He began singing and discovering music at the tender age of 3 from listening and watching is aunt Helen Scott of The Three Degrees. Professionally he has sung background for Lady Alma and Jean Carn as well as shared the stage with Vivian Green, Bilal, Marcus Johnson and Grammy Award Winners Take 6. In the studio he has recorded vocals for Sarah’s Girl, Geneva Renee, Tye Tribbett, Jim Stephens, and Will Downing. His debut single entitled “Words” is available on all digital retail outlets. He is the current Vice President of The Recording Academy Philadelphia Chapter. One of his musical missions is to keep the integrity and legacy of Philadelphia Soul both past and present alive.
About Gnomi Gre
Gnomi Gre has spent several years on stages across the country and around the world! Canada, The Caribbean, England, China and Japan applaud her performances as cast member or solo entertainer. She’s a performing artist from Philadelphia, Pa. with early roots in Musical Theater. Booking her first tour as a pre-teen then gaining credits with ATAFY, Disney (DCL) and Broadway’s “Hairspray” International tours. She has released her own singles and collaborated with producer C-Knowledge of Digable Planets. Currently she is touring with the legendary Bad Girl Of Rockin’ Roll Ronnie Spector (of The Ronettes and Be My Baby fame) and has recently performed at Carnegie Hall and The Glastonbury Festival (UK) with Elle King.
About Tia McNeil
Tia McNeil (known as Ms Tia) is one of Philadelphia’s fresh new talents. She has shared the stage with International Soul Artists Carl Thomas and Heston, and has performed in Gospel chorales backing Aretha Franklin and Shirley Caesar. She is a March 2017 Apollo Amateur Night Winner that is a regular at venues such as Kelsey’s in Atlantic City and Warmdaddy’s in Philadelphia. Her influences include performer such as Anita Baker, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Carrie Underwood and Maroon 5,
