Hamid El Kasri, one of the best of the Maalems (Master) in the Gnawa genre, and Will Calhoun, famous NY based Drummer, will be presenting an exclusive set where the ancestral genre of Gnawa meets Jazz.
Hamid El Kasri collaborated with some of the best Jazz and World Music acts throughout his career (Joe Zawinul, Marcus Miller, Youssou NDour, Hindi Zahra to name a few) and Karim Ziad is famous for backing some of the best Algerian singers (Khaled, Mami) but also for his collaborations/productions with a great long list of talented musicians throughout the World.

Will Calhoun received his BA in recording and engineering from the Berklee School of music. The two-time Grammy winner is a co-founding member of the genre-busting rock band Living Colour. Will has produced and toured with artists from around the world including Mick Jagger, Harry Belafonte, Mos Def, Lauryn Hill, Paul Simon, Madonna, Lou Reed, and Public Enemy, to name a few. Will’s latest jazz release is titled ‘Celebrating Elvin Jones” featuring Christian McBride, Jan Hammer, and other jazz giants. Will’s creativity does not begin and end in music; he is also a photographer and visual artist.
