Michelly Cordova & Yukako Yamano are setting Jazz On Fire this Summer in a 4 city tour.

2 years ago in a dark Los Angeles jazz club, Michelly met Yukako Yamano and was astonished by her performance and command of the piano. Yukako was blown away by the beauty and strength of Michelly’s voice. These 2 powerhouse performers come together to set this Jazz on Fire!

Michelly is a Los Angeles, Jazz vocalist, known for her dynamic and powerful voice, full of beauty and clarity. She burst onto the Los Angeles Jazz scene in 2006, and quickly gained recognition as a consummate torch singer. During her 2016 tour, Michelly Cordova opened for Madeleine Peyroux at the CoachHouse in Orange County. Her music is reminiscent of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sade and Norah Jones. Although classically trained, she mastered the improvisational skills of jazz at the most prestigious jazz jams in Los Angeles. She studied voice with Dini Clarke,  Cathy Segal-Garcia, and Vern Waldron. Michelly has performed in the US and Europe, with talented musicians from around the world and holds song writing credits with blues artist Billy Lee Riley. Michelly’s new single “Whisper in the Dark”, received a standing ovation during her show with Madeleine Peyroux.

Tokyo born, Yukako Yamano, is one of the most in-demand jazz pianists in the Tokyo music scene, today. She became known as a rising star of jazz, after a successful tour in 2013. Starting at the age of 3, Yukako studied piano at the Yamaha Music School. Followed by a high school music program at the Tokyo College of Music.
