Patricia Essong grew up in Cameroon and since an early age , she enriched the local musical culture.
At the age of responsibility, she continues her studies and embarked on a nice career in a management consulting firm.
The need to express her music however never leaves.
Very long time remained in the lines choices that came questioning everything , then , one morning of January 2013, she decides to get out of her comfort zone to go and meet this passion that lives for a longtime .
The quote ” The best day of your life is the one you decide that your life belongs to you” becomes her motto.
She discover a real vocation and start her route of a working girl who attends to meeting her dreams.
Between singing lessons in a gospel choir and rehearsal, Patricia travels Parisian music scene to get her message across: make her dream a reality.
Inspired by Miriam Makeba , Tracy Chapman, Lizz Wright, she produced her first album entitled : Soul of Nü Bantu, released in digital version February, 10th 2016 and physically may 27th 2016. In this album, she made the choice of rooting by appropriating her Bantu cultural heritage with her own sensitivity.
“Lyrics inviting the introspection of our culture, values, our spirituality, traditions that are lost, a tribute to artists who have marked generations” she said.
An album that reveals a range of Bantu languages, a regional trip embellished with folk, jazz and blues sonorities. An album of alternative and minimalist musicality. Soul of nü bantu is at the service of emotion.
