Belgian harpist and singer Pia Salvia is a rising artist in the world of modern harp. Currently based in New York City, she has travelled the world, learning different musical traditions and infusing elements from those diverse genres into the world of the harp. This collage creates a unique sound unlike anything heard before. Salvia explores these new territories with her band consisting of Dahna on background vocals, Ron Warburg on trumpet, Yoni Marianer on bass and Noam Israeli on drums. She is also one of the few harpists who incorporate electronic elements into their art – elements such as the use of a loop station and different effects pedals. The repertoire for this concert is consisted of original compositions by Salvia and different arrangements, merging elements of Jazz, Pop and World music. The performance will feature the harp paired with voice and the other members of the band, emphasizing the diverse textures and moods this instrumentation can create.
