Sebastián Menares is a musician, composer and bassist, born in Santiago de Chile, 1980. Inspired by an artistic environment, he began his studies of Electric Bass at the age of 14. In 2000, he studies Musical Performance with mention in Electric Bass in the Institute Modern School of Music, Chile.
Currently, since 2010, he is based in the city of Temuco, southern Chile, where he has led the vanguard of electric bass and has sought a space for artistic development, influenced by one of the most representative and transcendental places of the Chilean culture, as is the Araucanía, with its powerful resistance guarded in its language, poetry, music and worldview. The fusion of these elements with Cuban music, Jazz, R&B, Rock and Funk, gives life to a new voice for Chilean music, the album “RUMBO”.
Sebastián Menares presents RUMBO, an album that contains the participation of outstanding Chilean and Cuban musicians, among them: Alain Pérez, Elmer Ferrer, Alejandro García, Jorge Díaz, David Ortega, Mauricio Herrera Tamayo, to name a few.
