Amir Segall is an Israeli jazz pianist and composer based in Brooklyn, NY. Amir started playing classical music in very young age. However, the first time he was exposed to Oscar Peterson and Keith Jarrett, he switched his main focus to jazz.
Since Amir came to NYC in 2016, he performs in city’s jazz club as a bandleader and as a sidemen. In addition, he has been taught and surrounded by some of greatest musicians and players in the NY scene, such as Sam Yahel, Reggie Workman, Hal Galper, Charlie Persip, Kevin Hays, Doug Weiss and many others as well. Amir is graduated of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in jazz piano in May 2018.
This experimental trio of pianist Amir Segall, double bassist Kris Monson and drummer Shai Yuval, has drawn inspirations mainly from avant-garde and modern jazz, performs jazz standards, original music by all band members and free improvised music.
