Margaux Vranken, a graduate from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, is a Belgian jazz pianist and composer. She is the first Belgian musician to be the recipient of a full scholarship to complete her studies at the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute. She had the privilege to study with John Patitucci, Terri Lyne Carrington, Joe Lovano, Danilo Pérez, Ben Street among others. Margaux has received a grant from the organization VOCATIO and from SPES in 2018 (private grants to help outstanding Belgian artists) for her work as a pianist and composer. She recently recorded an album at the Bunker Studio in New York City with top-notch American musicians: the album “Purpose” is to be discovered in the fall of 2020 on Igloo Records. Tonight, she’ll present her compositions: her writing is influenced by the New York contemporary jazz scene and other musical genres (pop, soul) but is well anchored in the European jazz heritage. Don’t miss the occasion to discover this generous young artist!
