Liz Menezes is an international singer songwriter known for her strong, versatile and electrifying performances. Her music is a fusion of sounds and rhythms which include Bossa Nova, Jazz, Spanish Pop and World Music.

She began her musical career at the age of ten by getting involved in her church as part of the choir ensemble, while she was learning how to play classical piano.

Her training as a writer began at an early age, when she began writing poetry which later would take life with melodies eventually becoming songs.

Her desire to be involved in music led her to audition and along the way she did performances as a singer and also worked as a backup vocalist for different artists.

Liz has been influenced greatly by the Brazilian culture.  During her two year stay in Rio de Janeiro, she had the opportunity to record American Standards in Bossa Nova.  She worked with the record label Albatroz Music as an independent artist and included in these projects, which were released in Europe and Japan are such names as Bossa Nova great Roberto Menescal, and partner of Albatroz Music, Raymundo Bittencourt.

In 2007 two of her renditions of such Beatles classics, “For No One” and “Nowhere Man” included in the compilation BEATLES IN BOSSA went 1 in I-tunes Japan.

In 2008 Liz was voted into first place by her fans in the Latin category on the online competition FAMECAST with her song “Medidas”.

In 2009, Liz was acknowledged by the press appearing in People Espanol, Boom Magazine, Pies Derecho, New York Al Dia, Juniors’ Cave Online Magazine to name a few and she performed at the world known BB Kings in NYC.

2010 brought Liz Menezes an honorable mention by Billboard as a lyricist and interpreter for her song “Tengo” in the Latin category, followed later on that year by the launch of her official website

Her debut cd “YO” was released in 2011 with rave reviews and People En Espanol took notice shortly after by interviewing her for their magazine.

2012 Liz appeared on the cover of El Barrio Latino Magazine and had a featured interview in the Magazine Oh!

2013 Liz performed at Muzikfest’s Latin showcase in PA.  Not only had her music taken her out of NY, but television came knocking on her door.  The producers of the show EAST LOS HIGH currently a hit series on HULU, featured music from her debut cd YO on four highlighted episodes!

2014 started off with a bang!  Liz was featured in BMI’s Latin Show Case, which invited rising Latin singer songwriters to perform and her single Dejame was on iTunes top 100 new releases.

Once again the recording studio was next for this busy artist.  She set foot into the recording studio where she started writing what would soon become her long awaited second ep and during this time she took a hiatus to focus on new material and preparing for the next phase of her career. Her sophomore EP was released in 2015.  The EP titled “Capitulo 2” featured 5 songs in English and Spanish with a more organic sound.  This EP was the introduction of a new Liz Menezes as she embarked on a different and exciting musical journey, changing her genre to a more world musical sound offering a fusion of instruments and references from different cultures.

Not one to shy away from new projects, 2016 brought new collaborations, resulting in the summer hit “Si Nunca Te Tengo” with urban artist Parcero Bermudez accompanied with a cameo appearance in the Puerto Rican Day Parade, La Mega 97.9 FM stage and later the recording of the music video for the song which is set to be released later this year.

2016 has been a year of realization as Liz Menezes has discovered her true musical artistry. The stage is her home away from home and she has opened new doors with her Fall concert series, with live performances in New York venues such as Cocina Taller, Subrosa, Rockwood Music Hall and now her upcoming anticipated show at Club Bonafide.  She is a versatile and eclectic artist with a world blend.  The musical journey continues as.
